Mobile Pool Repair
Questions
Including the ones where the answer is "we don't know yet."
The short version
We fix pool equipment in nine East Valley markets: pump, motor, filter, salt system, automation and valve diagnostics, repair and installation, plus the plumbing between them.
Not sure what's wrong? A diagnostic is $120, credited toward your repair if you go ahead. Many common repairs and equipment installations have a set price instead. The answers below cover the questions we get most.
Still have a question?
The fastest way to a useful answer is usually the Pool Problem Finder — describe what your equipment is doing and it will narrow it down, including the times the answer is that you can fix it yourself.
Questions we get asked
Do you clean pools?
No. We repair and install equipment. If you need weekly cleaning and chemistry, a pool service company is the right call and will do it better than we would.
Do I need to know what's broken before I contact you?
No, and you shouldn't have to. Describing what you can see and hear is enough — that's exactly what the Pool Problem Finder is built around.
What does a repair cost?
It depends on whether you know what's wrong. If you don't, a diagnostic is $120. It finds what has actually failed and what fixing it involves, and the $120 is credited toward your repair if you go ahead. If you already know what you need, many common repairs and equipment installations have a set price, and the diagnostic fee doesn't automatically apply to those. Either way you hear the price before any work starts. A repair found by the diagnostic is quoted once we know what it is — which part failed, whether the wet end has to come apart, and whether the part is still made for your model all move that number, so we establish them first.
Do you repair pool heaters?
Yes — gas heaters and heat pumps both. They fail in completely different ways, so the first thing we establish is which one you have. A large share of no-heat calls turn out to be a flow problem upstream of the heater rather than a fault inside it, which is why we measure the flow before opening the cabinet.
What brands do you work on?
Pentair, Jandy and Hayward most often, and plenty besides. Diagnosis is largely the same across them; what the brand decides is parts availability, what an error code means, and which components are worth repairing on that particular unit.
My pump is showing an error code. What does it mean?
We don't publish code meanings we haven't verified against the manufacturer's own documentation, because a code read from the wrong manual sends you after the wrong part. Send us the code and a photo of the equipment and we'll bring the right documentation.
Can you come out today?
Often, yes. Same-day is possible most days across the areas we cover — at minimum to come out and look. What decides it is what is already booked, so ring and ask and you will get a straight answer for that day.
What if the problem turns out to be nothing?
Then we tell you exactly what we found. The diagnostic often catches something like a tripped breaker or a packed basket before anyone drives out. If we are already there, a simple problem may still take the diagnostic to find and correct — but we won't turn a simple fix into an unnecessary repair.
Tell us what it’s doing.
A few questions is usually enough to tell a five-minute fix from a real repair.
