Pool Repair

Pool repair, and nothing else

Most pool companies clean pools and repair equipment on the side. We do the repair half, full time, across Arizona's East Valley.

What "repair only" actually changes

A cleaning route is built around volume: a set number of stops a day, each one short. That model works well for keeping water clear. It works badly for diagnosis, which takes as long as it takes and goes wrong when it is squeezed between two other stops.

We do the other half. No routes, no chemical service, no upsell into a weekly plan. The practical differences show up on the driveway:

  • The truck carries parts, not chlorine.
  • The person diagnosing your equipment is the person repairing it.
  • If the answer is "nothing is wrong, your timer lost its schedule after the outage," that is the answer you get.

What we repair, by category

Pool equipment is a system, and the symptom rarely sits where the fault is. Weak return flow can be a filter, a valve, an impeller, or an air leak on a pipe you cannot see. So we work across the whole pad rather than one component.

Deciding and diagnosing

Installing rather than repairing? That has its own page: pool equipment installation.

What the work covers

  • Diagnosis. Working out which component actually failed, and why, before anything is quoted.
  • Repair. Capacitors, motors, seals, impellers, baskets, filter internals, relays, actuators, valves and salt cells.
  • Replacement and installation. Pumps, filters, salt systems, automation and the pad plumbing that connects them, sized against the pipework you have.
  • Leaks we can see and reach, at the equipment pad and in accessible plumbing — unions, seals, fittings, valve stems and water levellers. The leak repair page has the detail.

Repair or replace

The honest version: it depends on the part, the age, and what else is about to fail. A seal on a five-year-old pump is worth replacing. The same seal on a motor with failing bearings is money spent twice. We would rather say that than sell you the cheaper repair and be back in three months.

Where we can, we tell you what we would do if it were our pool. That is not a quote and it is not a guarantee, but it is a straight answer.

Start with the symptom

If you already know what it is doing, start there:

Why homeowners call us

  • You approve the price first

Whether we are diagnosing a fault or doing a job you already know you need, you hear the price before any work starts. Nothing is replaced until you have approved it.

  • Pool equipment is all we work on

Pumps, motors, filters, salt systems, automation and the plumbing at the pad. The technician who diagnoses it is the one who fixes it.

  • Upfront pricing

Not sure what's wrong? A $120 diagnostic finds it, and the $120 is credited toward your repair if you go ahead. Many common repairs and installations have a set price instead.

Questions we get asked

Do I need to know what's broken before I call?

No. Describing what you can see and hear is enough. The Pool Problem Finder is built around exactly that.

What if it turns out to be something simple?

Then we tell you exactly what we found. If the problem is a tripped breaker or a clogged pump basket we'll tell you exactly that — but we won't recommend a new pump or a repair you don't need.

Do you find leaks under the deck or in the pool shell?

We repair leaks at the equipment pad and in plumbing we can see and reach, and ruling the pad in or out is quick and worth doing first. Locating a leak in a buried line or in the shell needs a leak-detection specialist's listening equipment, and we will say so in the same visit if that is where it points.

Do you install equipment as well as repair it?

Yes — pumps, motors, filters, salt systems, automation, valves and pad plumbing. Installation starts with a site evaluation, because pipe diameter, run length and everything downstream decide what will actually work.

Tell us what it’s doing.

A few questions is usually enough to tell a five-minute fix from a real repair.
